Torrence Thomas, Youth and Family Evangelism Pastor
Torrence Thomas has been a member of Church of God since 1990 and currently serves as the NE Florida Evangelism Director.
During his tenure, Pastor Thomas has served in a variety of leadership roles such as Evangelism Director, Council of Elders, and Youth Pastor. In June, 2015, Pastor Thomas was awarded the office of Bishop by the Church of God.
Pastor Thomas served in the United States Army from 1989 to 1993 after being honorably discharged. He has worked diligently to educate and equip himself to spread the gospel beyond the walls of the church and into the surrounding community.
Pastor Thomas is a certified Community Service Chaplain (Commission of Church of God), certified Chaplain (American Chaplain Association) and Business Chaplain (Life Changing University). Pastor Thomas received a Master’s Degree in Theology in 2011 and later received his Doctorate in 2016.
Pastor Thomas has not only faithfully served his local church; he is also a committed volunteer. He reads and ministers the word to residents at skilled nursing facilities, he volunteers as a hospital chaplain, he ministers to prison inmates, and his position as a Community Youth leader allows him to be a role model.
Pastor Thomas is recognized by his peers, as a man who sincerely loves the people of God. He not only ministers to lost souls, but he encourages and motivates individuals to fulfill the call of God for their lives.
Pastor Thomas was married to his wife, Belinda Lockley Thomas, for over 33 years.
